Introducing Myself

Hello, my name is Andrew and I am a fully-qualified and widely-experienced acupuncturist, regularly carrying out five element acupuncture appointments within the Blackheath and Greenwich area of South East London (see where and Google Maps). I originally graduated from the School of Five Element Acupuncture (SOFEA) in 2006. However, I began my studies back in 2002 at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture (LCTA) so possess a broad background in other acupuncture and Chinese Medicine traditions as well.

I receive different forms of continuous professional development (CPD), which have included among others, completing a post-graduate excellence programme at the London Institute of Five Element Acupuncture (LIFEA in association with the Kite Clinic). As well as regularly attending whole day seminars hosted by Nora Franglen and Guy Caplan, exploring the elements in greater detail and applying that knowledge within a clinical setting.

Previously, I was also one of the practitioners who took part in the King's Funded CACTUS study (Classical Acupuncture for Treating Unexplained Symptoms) with GP surgeries throughout London, run in conjunction with LIFEA and the University of Exeter. The results of which concluded, 'the addition of 12 sessions of five element acupuncture to usual care resulted in improved health status and wellbeing that was sustained for 12 months'.

In addition to acupuncture, I completed a Japanese Herbal Medicine post-graduate Kampo apprenticeship diploma in 2011 (see herbal) and have trained in the Martial & Health Arts for over 30 years (see articles). Whereas, formerly, I worked for 10 years within Imperial College (Faculty of Medicine) as a Central Support Manager and Health & Safety Advisor. And prior to this, gained my degree in Nutrition & Sports Science from the University of North London (1998). Therefore, I bring elements of all this experience into the way I work, to promote what is termed 'Health in Harmony'.
